If you answered yes to any of these questions Embracing HospiceCare would be honored to have you as part of our volunteer program.

Embracing HospiceCare offers end of life care to terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers add a special dimension to the care that we provide. Sometimes a family member is unsure about leaving their loved one alone to complete simple tasks such as banking or food shopping. That is where a volunteer can offer respite care. Some of our patients who are located in a facility might not receive regular visits for a variety of different reasons; a volunteer can change that by offering socialization and companionship. It is spending that little bit of quality time that makes all the difference to someone who is at end of life. The following are different ways in which you can assist Embracing HospiceCare in our mission.

• Become a Palliative Support Volunteer:

Palliative Support Volunteers to meet the special needs of terminally ill hospice patients. Volunteers provide companionship, respite, emotional and spiritual support for patients and families. Volunteers add a special dimension to Embracing HospiceCare’s work. With a warm smile, a tender touch, a listening ear, a heartfelt willingness to help you can make that difference. Palliative Support Volunteer must be 18 years of age or older.

Training:

There is a one time training that provides you with the necessary tools to make comfortable patient visits. There are some mandatory topics that need to be covered such as HIPAA, infection control, confidentiality and fire safety information.

• Become an Administrative Volunteer:

Administrative Volunteers assist with clerical duties in anyone of our two locations. Our offices are located in Wall and Cranbury, New Jersey. Administrative volunteers can assist with filing, bulk mailings, data entry, typing, assembling packets and training manuals, inventory and answering phones. Administrative volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.

There is a one time training that provides you with the necessary tools to make comfortable patient visits. There are some mandatory topics that need to be covered such as HIPAA, infection control, confidentiality and fire safety information. The training is a one-on-one training that is set according to your schedule.

• Pet Therapy:

If you have a dog that has attended a pet therapy program and is a certified pet therapy dog we would love to you both as a part of our team. Our pets visit patients in Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and Private Residences.

• Integrative Therapies:

Are you certified in Reiki, Massage Therapy, Music Therapy, Aromatherapy or Guided Imagery? We have a place for you at Embracing HospiceCare.

• The Professional Volunteer:

Are you a licensed Hairdresser or Barber, Photographer, Event Speaker, Social Worker or Manicurist? If so you can make a difference in an individual's life through volunteering.
